Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Goliad County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message is kept as needed to prepare a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:
- The date and time of each page request
- Your device's assigned IP address
- The referring website, when one is reported
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device type
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and our analytics services help combine traffic data so we can understand popular pages and where visits end. You may block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so can change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
Information collected through a visit is used for the following operational purposes:
- Diagnosing faults and other technical problems
- Operating the site and improving page speed
- Directing a search query to the correct partner
- Assessing which content is useful or needs improvement
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Goliad County Criminal History does not own, compile, sell, or maintain a database of personal criminal records. Its reference material identifies record sources such as the Goliad County Sheriff/Jail, the County and District Clerk, the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Division, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Texas Government Code Chapter 411 controls criminal-history dissemination and nondisclosure in relevant settings. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the site's search boxes. A query submitted through one of those tools is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before entering a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Goliad County government, Texas agencies, court portals, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you leave this site, the destination's policy applies. Read that policy before supplying personal information.
Some advertising providers may follow activity across websites to select targeted ads. That process takes place on the provider's systems, outside our control.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available in limited form to:
- Advertising networks that serve ads on the site
- Search partners processing a query you submit
- Government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal order
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and site performance
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information we collect. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If you believe a minor supplied information, contact us so it can be deleted promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal data depend on the law that applies to you and the context of the information. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs access to records held by Texas governmental bodies, not private-site visitor files. Government Code Chapter 411 separately regulates criminal-history dissemination and nondisclosure. You may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Delete personal information, where applicable
- Honor an available opt-out from certain processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A changed version will be posted here with a new effective date, so review the page periodically for updates to our practices.
